Etera | Kutomo Business Park

The energy costs of the Kutomo Business Park located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, dropped as much as 30 percent in a couple of years. The district heating costs of the large property have reduced by 50 percent and a large slice of the electricity bills have also been reduced. The building’s conditions have also improved as has the working environment.

The Kutomo Business Park is made up of two properties whose combined area is 26 000 m². The property is used by employees from Elisa, Moneta, and numerous technology companies.

“It looks like the district heating costs have halved. The risk/reward ratio in this project is excellent,” says Matti Autere, building manager at Etera.

The project was carried out with LeaseGreen’s service contract which is based on a monthly repayment model. According to Autere it is an excellent solution for the owners of the property because it reduces the repair debt without tying up the owner’s capital. Reducing energy costs is also very suitable for pension insurance companies sustainable investments needs.

During the energy overhaul at Kutomo several hundred individual procedures were carried out. The majority of them were done in the property’s technical spaces and at times that were of the least inconvenience to the tenants.
