LähiTapiola | Satotukku
0.8 savings, million euro
“Energy efficiency is part of a responsible property investor’s strategic toolkit. Our goal is to achieve a 7.5 percent energy saving across our entire portfolio of properties by 2025. Everyone wins when the energy efficiency of properties is developed in sensible ways, and one of those winners in our shared environment.”
Environmental Manager Eero Kokkonen, LocalTapiola Real Estate Asset Management Ltd
LeaseGreen is improving the energy efficiency of the LocalTapiola Non-Life Insurance owned logistics facilities in Vantaa. The project involved building a large solar energy system on the roof of the building, the lighting was renewed with LED lighting, the ventilation was modernised and the automation optimised. The investments improve the property’s conditions and the profitability of the businesses being run in the property as well as reducing their carbon footprint.
The energy efficiency project is being implemented in collaboration with Satotukku Ltd, one of the users of the property. Satotukku is Finland’s biggest private fruit and vegetable wholesaler. The property at Tuupakantie 32 functions as one of the biggest banana ripening facilities in Finland and also houses the Posti Group. The new solar energy system has 666 panels whose combined output is 200 kWp. The panels are installed on the roof of the cold storage facility, which reduces the building’s thermal stress and cooling load in the summer.
Tuupakantie 32 is managed by LocalTapiola Real Estate Asset Management Ltd. who began collaboration with LeaseGreen in 2017. According to LeaseGreen’s estimates, the investments being made by the owner of the property, offer Satotukku and Posti investment lifecycle savings of 800 000 euros.
