Finland’s leading energy service company, LeaseGreen, designed and implemented an energy overhaul at Spa Hotel Rauhalahti located in Kuopio. As part of the overhaul at Rauhalahti, the ventilation system was modernized and made more appropriate for the site. The majority of the lighting was changed to LEDs and an exhaust air heat pump was installed at the property.

The new technology reduced the hotel’s carbon footprint by 101 tonnes per year, which is equivalent to 840 Helsinki-Stockholm return flights. The total energy savings came to 740 000 euros. In addition, the conditions in the hotel improved.

Located on the shore of Kallavesi and next to a conservation area, the spa hotel consists of eleven separate buildings. The main building was built at the beginning of the 1980s and has 106 rooms. In addition to the main building, the complex includes an apartment hotel, studio hotel, the Jätkänkämppä restaurant and a smoke sauna. The total heated area is over 19 000 m2, and much more in cubic meters.

Spa Hotel Rauhalahti is the second energy efficiency project that LeaseGreen has completed with Solaris Spas.
